Development of geothermal heat pump

Publish Time: 2023-05-29     Origin: Site

In 1946, the first geothermal heat pump system in the United States was successfully installed in central Portland, Oregon.

In 1973, the geothermal heat pump air conditioning system was installed in Homer Building in Accra, the United States, and a comprehensive system research was carried out.

In 1978, the United States Department of Energy (DOE) began to invest a large amount of scientific and technological research and development funds in geothermal heat pump.

In 1979, the US Department of Energy of Accra and Homer established the geothermal heat pump system technology research and development foundation.

In 1987, the International geothermal heat pump Association (IGSHPA) was established at the University of Oklahoma, Accra.

In 1988, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce began to promote geothermal heat pump commercially.

In 1993, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) vigorously promoted the geothermal heat pump system to deepen the American people's understanding of geothermal heat pump.

In 1994, the first geothermal heat pump air-conditioning system of the U.S. government was installed at the University of Congress in Oregon. Since then, geothermal heat pump has been widely used in the U.S. government, the military, power companies, etc.

In 1998, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued regulations requiring the promotion and application of geothermal heat pump systems in buildings of federal government agencies across the country. President Bush also installed a geothermal heat pump air conditioning system in his residence in Texas. 75% of the world's geothermal heat pump systems are installed in North America.

The United States is the world's largest country in the production, use and development of geothermal heat pump,

1985: 14000 geothermal heat pump were installed in the United States;

In 1997: 45000 units;

In 2000: 400000 units;

In 2004: 670000 units;

In 2005: 1000000 units.

Canada: In 2005, the proportion of new geothermal heat pump systems increased by 50%.

Switzerland and Norway: the countries with the highest per capita application ratio of geothermal heat pump in the world, with the application ratio up to 96%.

Austria: The application proportion is 45%.

Denmark: The application proportion is 35%.

Japan: It is the country with the most advanced technology and the highest proportion of geothermal heat pump in Asia.

In 1997, the United States Department of Energy (DOE) of the United States and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China signed the Sino US Protocol on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Cooperation, one of the main contents of which is the cooperation of the "geothermal heat pump" project.

In 1998, several universities in China, including Chongqing University of Architecture and Architecture, Qingdao Institute of Architecture and Engineering, Hunan University, Tongji University, began to set up a geothermal heat pump test-bed to study geothermal heat pump technology.

In January 2006, the Ministry of Construction issued the National Standard for Engineering Technical Specifications of geothermal heat pump System.

In September 2006, Shenyang was identified by the Ministry of Construction as a pilot city for geothermal heat pump technology promotion. By the end of 2010, the application area of geothermal heat pump technology in the city accounted for about 1/3 of the total heating area.

In December 2006, the Ministry of Construction released the document "Key Promotion Technology Fields for the 11th Five Year Plan". As a new type of efficient and renewable energy technology, water source heat pump technology has been included in the catalog.

Geothermal heat pump is a low-grade heat source that uses shallow water sources (groundwater, seawater, river water, lake water, etc.) on the surface of the earth or underground soil heat sources to generate cooling capacity for air conditioning in summer and heat for heating in winter through heat pump and refrigeration cycle.

The heating of geothermal heat pump is more economical than that of conventional electric heating or fuel oil or gas heating. Usually, the same heat is produced. The power consumption of geothermal heat pump is only 1/4 to 1/5 of the electric power consumption. Therefore, geothermal heat pump has a broad market.

During the "12th Five Year Plan" period, China is expected to complete the heating (cooling) area of about 350 million square meters with geothermal heat pump, and the market scale of the entire geothermal energy development and utilization will exceed 70 billion yuan.

The Energy Administration and other four ministries and commissions issued the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development and Utilization of geothermal energy [2013] No. 48

By 2015, basically find out the situation and distribution characteristics of geothermal energy resources nationwide, and establish a national geothermal energy resource data and information service system. The national geothermal heating area has reached 500 million square meters, the installed capacity of geothermal power generation has reached 100000 kilowatts, and the annual utilization of geothermal energy has reached 20 million tons of standard coal, forming a relatively complete industrial system for geothermal energy resource evaluation, development and utilization technology, key equipment manufacturing, and industrial services.

By 2020, the development and utilization of geothermal energy will reach 50 million tons of standard coal, forming a perfect geothermal energy development and utilization technology and industrial system.
